Kirin Lemon was created by Kirin Brewery in Yokohama in 1928. Originally the company also produced Kirin Cider, Kirin Citron, and soda water, but the lemon flavor proved most popular. The drink is flavored by extracts from the zest or lemon peel.
The recipe for the drink has been changed several times since 2006, with adjustments to the amount of sugar, amount of lemon juice added, as well as coloring or lack of coloring.
Another energizing lemon beverage. Not so much of a lemonade as it is a citric acid beverage. Tastes a little like an elderflower drink, in that its tart and sugary without a very particular flavor.
It is a strong flavored drink, but the flavor can't be placed. It seems light as a beverage, with tart & sweet that dance on the tongue but are then gone, leaving a slightly juicy watery flavor. Its like a cleaner, less sticky version of 7Up, very tasty.
High fructose corn syrup, sugar, carbon dioxide, acidulant, artificial flavor, safflower color.
